Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. by the Board of Converse County Commissioners in Commission Chambers, Converse County Courthouse, 107 N. 5th Street, Douglas, Wyoming, to consider public comments regarding Resolution 17-23, Revisions to the Rules & Regulations for the Control of Dogs and Cats Within the Unincorporated Areas of Converse County, Wyoming. Pursuant to W.S. 11-31-301(b), it is a public nuisance for one or more specified animals to be running at large in unincorporated areas; a fine shall be imposed on the owner of such animal and restitution for any damages to person or property caused by the animal shall be made by the owner; and dogs or other animals, whose ownership cannot be determined, may be destroyed. The board of county commissioners may require the owner or person having the right to possession of any dog or cat in the district three (3) months of age or older, to present a valid rabies vaccination certificate showing the dog or cat has been vaccinated for immunization against rabies by a licensed veterinarian. All interested parties are invited to attend. Written comments will also be accepted through the end of the public hearing by submitting to the County Clerk at karen.rimmer@conversecountywy.gov or in person or by mail to the County Courthouse, 107 N. 5th Street, Ste. 114, Douglas, WY 82633.
