The Converse County Commissioners are excited to let you know we have closed on the purchase and assignment of the 220 acres surrounding Ayres Natural Bridge Park. While the purchase is complete, the access and safety requirements around the LaPrele Damn replacement will limit some access to the lands, but we are working on a plan to allow the public to access all the land that we can at this time. We will be working with local recreation groups and the Parks & Rec Board to develop uses for the land. There are lots of ideas being discussed from the trails, to camping spots, to possibly a small event structure, but no plans have been developed or finalized. Now that the county owns the property, we can focus on making it an asset for residents and visitors to enjoy for generations to come!
