An optional permanent license plate is available for trailers that weigh 1,000 pounds or less.

Trailers less than 6 years old would have a one-time registration fee of $350.

Trailers 6 years old or older would have a one-time payment of $50 plus 5-times the annual registration fee. For example, if the usual fee was $11, the permanent plate would cost $50 plus $55, for a total of $105.

Permanent plates cannot transfer owners. If an owner purchases a permanent plate for a trailer, sells it and purchases a new trailer, the fees and plate would transfer to the new trailer.
