Emergency sirens are used to alert the citizens of Douglas and Glenrock of emergencies.
Whenever the Civil Defense Outdoor Warning sirens are activated and sound a steady 3 minute blast, you should tune to the cable television system or to KKTY a.m. radio (1470) for up-to-date emergency information.
Scheduled Tests
Glenrock – 10 a.m. first Saturday of each month
Douglas - 10:30 a.m. first Saturday of each month
The emergency sirens are also tested monthly. The first Saturday of each month, the sirens are sounded for a steady 3 minute blast. These are tests of the Civil Defense Outdoor Warning sirens. In the event of severe weather, local or national disasters, the Douglas Police Department will interrupt cable television programming to inform you of any emergency situation.
